Things that are 🔥🔥🔥: Black Friday edition
A list of incredible holiday gifts from businesses run by Black women
Today I’m sharing some incredible businesses owned by Black women. More than the Amazons of the world, these businesses need our support. And, if you have any other businesses to shout out, please leave them in the comments of this post.
1) Pipcorn: In this mini-pack of Pipcorn, get both sea-salt and truffle flavors so that no matter what you’re craving, it’s on hand. Each of Pipcorn’s products are made with heirloom corn which has a better taste, better nutrition, and is more environmentally sustainable.
While working at a Chicago farmer’s market, Jennifer Martin encountered tiny kernels which launched her business featuring heirloom corn in 2012. Featured as one of Oprah’s favorite things (three times!) as a deal on Shark Tank, Pipcorn is now sold in over 10,000 stores across the country.
2) Golde: This bundle gets you a limited-edition Cacao Glaze Mug in combination with superfood Cacao Turmeric making this a great gift for all those in your life focusing on wellness.
Trinity Mouzon Wofford is on a mission to make wellness accessible for all. In 2017 with a single product (the original turmeric latte blend), Golde was launched in Brooklyn and has now amassed thousands of supporters for their superfood essentials.
3) The Lip Bar: In need of a lip product that lasts all day? The TLB Nonstop Liquid Matte product goes on like a gloss, dries matte, and has over 5,000 five-star reviews.
Melissa Butler was frustrated with the toxic, one-shade-fits-most beauty industry so she created her own vibrant vegan lipstick. Though she was rejected on Shark Tank, Melissa kept pushing to make her dream come true and TLB is now sold in over 2,000 stores nationwide.
4) BYCHARI: Personalized necklaces make the perfect gift, and this one allows you to customize not only the name, but the letter spacing, chain length, and material.
Handmade in Los Angeles, BYCHARI was created in 2012 by Chari Cuthbert as a way for women to express their personal style and personality. She wanted a brand filled with simple pieces that were still focused on luxury. Fans of the brand include Michelle Obama, Kate Hudson, Rose Huntington-Whiteley, Aimee Song, and more.
5) Cavo: The Wash Day candle has hints of pineapple, mango, coconut milk, and sugar are made with 100% organic soy wax. Bonus, each of Cavo’s candles has a playlist inspired by it to add a little something extra to your experience.
Wanting to create candles that matched their style, sisters Naomi and Femi Adeyemo launched Cavo in 2020. The candles are fun and eclectic, hand poured, and each comes with a QR code that links to a playlist matching the names of the candles to help mark a special occasion each time you light your candle.
6) Belle's Reines: Is it actually necessary to say anything other than “chocolate chip gourmet mini cookies?” This bag of twelve makes a great sweet treat or hostess gift for holiday parties.
When Angel started a food blog, her mother, Teneisha, knew that the delicious food featured needed to be sold. Belle’s Reines specializes in small batch, mini gourmet cookies that are completely nut free and are meant to spread love and happiness in every single bite.
7) MOODEAUX: When you get this bundle, you’ll get a dry oil perfume spray in a travel pen and Moodeaux’s new IntenScenual perfume with notes of sparkling yuzu, cardamom, pink pepper, and coconut.
