Things that are 🔥🔥🔥 GOTV edition
From the last Women Wednesday zoom to men who don't want women to vote to what to wear to the polls when you ignore them and vote anyway
💻 JOIN: Tomorrow is the final Women Wednesdays for Harris call before the election. In this call we’re talking about getting people to the polls for Election Day. With special guests Michelle Buteau, Piper Perabo, Susan McPherson, Kelley Robinson, Tim Ryan, Melissa Walker, Rep. Becca Balint, and Rep. Lisa Blunt Rochester, we have a lineup that will motivate you to get across the finish line. These calls are completely FREE, so be sure you are registered by visiting this link.
✋ ACTION: We’ve got one week left and there is still a lot you can do to ensure VP Harris ends up in the White House. First, make sure you’re talking to EVERYONE you know—especially those who are still undecided. You can refer to my tips in this post. Second, door knock, phone bank, volunteer—it all can make a significant last minute difference. Mobilize.us has a lot of great opportunities for this final stretch, especially in swing states. It’s time for the final push. Don’t give up yet. If Doug Emhoff can do this 👇, you can, too.
🗣️ SWAY: By now you’ve surely heard about the racist, misogynistic, absolutely unhinged “rally” the Trump campaign held at Madison Square Garden (find a brief overview on
’s Instagram here). And if that hasn’t convinced you that Trump is a danger to democracy, perhaps his former Director of White House Personnel talking about wanting only men to vote will.👚 WEAR: Reminder: almost half of the states don’t allow political merch to be worn to the polls. So to be on the safe side, hold off on wearing your Harris/Walz merch until after you’ve cast your vote. In the meantime, my friend’s new swag business—Kick Rocks Studio—can help remind you of how far we’ve come and that WE ARE NOT GOING BACK.
And most important....
🗳️ VOTE: If you haven’t already voted early, make sure that you have a plan for next Tuesday. Know your polling location. Know the hours. Know the requirements. Know your voting rights. Make sure that you are as prepared as possible so that nothing unexpected happens on election day. Review the information on usa.gov and vote.gov if you need any refreshers.
Thank you so much for everything you have done, Shannon! I would just add one note to the Vote prompt. If voting by mail, make sure you track your ballots. A ballot drop box was set on fire not far from me here in Washington state and they are quickly able to restore damaged ballots if you are able to track them. (I hate that I even have to type this.)
Hell yes to all of this!!! You have inspired me in a way that has made such a huge impact in my life and in the lives of women and men around me. I will never be the same. Doing the work like I have never done and grateful for the push and information and fire. 🔥 Now LFG!!!!
