💬 Thursday Thread: What is your approach to enduring the next four years?
Small, actionable steps are just as important as the big ones
We’re just a few days into the new administration and many of us are already feeling overwhelmed, helpless, and even angry (all understandable emotions.) But don’t despair; there’s plenty you can do to help yourself and others.
Earlier this week, I wrote about the 10 actionable steps you can take right now to make a difference during the Trump years. From determining your strength and finding your cause to joining a community and embracing joy, even small steps can make a big difference.
👉 So for today’s Thursday thread, here’s what I’d like to know:
Which of the ten tips resonated the most with you?
What advice do you have for anyone who is freaking out right now?
And don’t forget, when you preorder my upcoming book Fired Up, you get access to the upcoming Firestarter University, a year-long program with me to come together in community and to figure out what makes you come alive.
Welcome to the Thursday Threads, a weekly chance for us to connect with one another in the comments. Join me and other readers as we navigate important discussions. And a note: a difference of opinion is always okay, being unkind to one another is not. Let’s keep these conversations respectful.
My upcoming book, Fired Up: How to Turn Your Spark Into a Flame and Come Alive at Any Age, is now available for preorder! This book is my guide to figuring out what lights you up and will show you how to live on fire every day. Click here to preorder and get locked into some incredible bonuses.
Just reading the comments from fellow readers is a good start for me. I love 'celebrate every win' especially. Continuing to spread kindness where I can and shutting up when I need to. We all get a voice; it's up to me how/when I internalize what I read/hear. Showing up for my neighbors and friends and family. Deciding today I'd rather be hopeful than scared.
Community. Community times infinity. I'm checking in with people and we're all making concrete plans to support each other through all this. For example, I have offered up my snowblower to my community so we all don't need to buy one. I've reached out to see who has chickens to see if I can barter home-baked bread for eggs. I'm getting even more involved with my local Dems, and developing those community connections as well.
