I appreciate the concrete things suggested here. This is the energy I want. Building something new. I have already organized a full moon femininomenon (thanks Chappell) and a neighborhood women’s letter writing gathering.
For the past decade I've worked quite closely with and for women and the experience has benefitted me without question. I know of the manosphere, I've witnessed it in action and the truth is, it is populated by weak men who question their own abilities and so deflect by finding fault with and criticising women. I'm convinced that when women rise to the levels they should occupy, the world will be a better place for all. BTY, great session w/ Charlotte yesterday! #KeepGoing ❤️
Thank you for writing this, Shannon. I love what you’ve shared here. I’ve long wished for more spaces for women to connect, be vulnerable together, and then use that authentic sharing and collective experience towards advocacy and action, all being centered and grounded in principles of intersectionality, inclusivity and cultural humility. I also think coming from different perspectives, careers, backgrounds lends us so much strength and depth.
Thank you for naming this Shannon. I’ve been feeling helpless and hopeless, but weekly I facilitate two elder women’s story circles (the Sages) and each week they go deep. Your naming the womansphere the way you did helps me to know that although we gather in small groups—we are part of the change each time we gather.
Yes!! Literally thrilled to help in any way. The manosphere thrives on hyping each other and their garbage messages. Let’s blow sh** up and flood the zone with non-garbage :)
Feels like everything I’ve fought for to ensure women have a seat @ the table is under a brutal attack. Attacks designed to roll back all the progress women have made since tbe 70’s.
Thanks for these steps to create women’s spaces everywhere!
The manosphere has always been for losers, and we are now seeing them taking what I hope will be their last pathetic gasps. Backlash always comes and we fight back by fighting together. Thank you so much for this important work, and for sharing these resources. Glad to have you as part of my womanosphere.
Just preordered!! And YES to all of this! I've been thinking about (and needing) this so much. I write about how women's support networks can double as launching pads for strategic civil disobedience in https://joannfinkelstein.substack.com/p/eyes-wide-open-how-womens-vigilance (I never do this but it's SO related to your piece). Let's do this thing!!
OMG I love this so much! I have been craving deep connection and community. Thank you for articulating what I'm feeling in my heart. I too believe that it is up to us - on a community level - to begin these connections. I am currently exploring this in my own little corner of the world.
Love this name!! I created a local women’s circle group where we meet to practice yoga/meditate and then discuss all the ways we can help fight this fuckery.

Love this, May!

You are a light in the dark Shannon.

Don't give up, Katherine. We'll continue to fight together.
Thanks, Shannon. I really appreciate you.
Organization and espousing a united, proactive message, not just reacting to outrage bait, is the key for sure. Great post!!

Thank you!! This was exactly what I needed to read today!
I'm honored to be included in such a wonderful piece, Shannon! Love it.
I also write A Little Something Sweet, here: https://thesweetfeminist.substack.com/subscribe - it's a newsletter for people who have abortions and love dessert.
I’m in! Yes to this!
This resonates so deeply with me. We have power and have proven that we can approach the work with joy. Thank you, Shannon.
