From Gen X love to rebranding breakfast sandwiches to the question I get asked most on Zooms
We saw U2 at the Sphere and it was mind-blowing β from the state-of-the-art facility to the band and set-list to being surrounded by thousands of fellow Gen Xers. There were no bad seats. The band just added lots of new dates β donβt miss it. π΅
Just dove in to the βLessons in Chemistryβ miniseries starring Brie Larson. I couldnβt get through the book, but I think the Apple TV show is fantastic. πΊ
Fascinating long read in The Intelligencer about COVID lockdowns. Itβs an excerpt from a new book, βThe Big Fail: What the Pandemic Revealed About Who America Protects and Who It Leaves Behind,β by Joe Nocera and Bethany McLean. π
Right now, the works of a trio of Black portraitists β Mickalene Thomas, Renee Cox and Lyle Ashton Harris β are on display at Yale, Princeton and Duke, historically white spaces with pasts that are entangled with slavery. ποΈ
When I went through menopause, my eyelashes disappearedβ¦? Not sure why, but now I use these lashes from Jenna Lyonsβ Loveseen (sheβs also my favorite cast member on the RHONY reboot). Speaking of Housewives, wow: βInside the Real Housewives Reckoning Thatβs Rocking Bravo.β π
During Zooms I often get asked what lipstick Iβm wearing and I love to proselytize about it because itβs the best, most natural color in the universe (and it changes shades depending on your lipliner). I use shade 01. π
Iβm obsessed with breakfast sandwiches β but the name is incorrect; theyβre the perfect food all day long. Whatβs the best breakfast sandwich youβve ever had? And how can I get one?
If you want to try the new βlong and baggy but fitted in the waste wool pantsβ look, I recommend these affordable slacks by Favorite Daughter. I did have to get them altered, so consider ordering the βshortieβ version if youβre under 5β5. π
Whatβs happening in the Middle East is heartbreaking, and social media algorithms (and maybe China?) are exploiting the tragedy to polarize people into two distinct and opposite sides. If you need a break from the black and white viewpoints, check out these educational, nuanced, thought-provoking episodes π :

If youβre looking for a lighter vibe, my favorite go-to is Vibe Check with Sam Sanders. Sam has another great podcast about culture called Into It. π
People sharing their most embarrassing mispronounced words on TikTok is my love language. π₯°'
That Intelligencer COVID article is fascinating. And Jenna Lyons is the best "housewife" ever, hands down.
This is exactly what I needed today. I have a saved folder on instagram named "breakfast burrito." Wake and Late in DTLA is the best I've ever had, discovered completely by chance, I could CRY about it. It's not a breakfast sandwich but love this spicy lil cousin. Egg/cheese/pork/potato surrounded by a carb is beautiful.
Also when I was in 7th grade, a kid in my science class pronounced organism as orgasm and no one has ever forgotten it.
