Shared with my bffs who are also feeling the grief and confusion & like we’re swimming through molasses. As white women, we’re struggling to understand what certainly seems like betrayal to this country from other white women. Once I can breathe I’ll strive for curiosity.
I think Brene Brown calls this the rumble. The shift from who's to blame (I need to speak to your manager) to what's my role. What do I need to learn from this? Until we seek to understand, we cannot effectively move forward. Me? Irish hothead. I lash out, repost all the angry memes, sign up for more causes than I can effectively support. Then I turn off everything, red-faced and look in the mirror.

Time for sharpening the "saw", mentally, physically, and emotionally. Time to head out to the "field". Time for humility. Time for listening. Time for building bridges and alliances. Time for pruning the message. The next inning is coming. 2026 will be throwing its pitch our way before you know it, and, once again, the score will be tied. Time to step up to the plate and take another swing, better prepared than ever.
