💬 Thursday Thread: Are you ready to join a womansphere?
Out with the manosphere; in with the womansphere; it's time to build community with one another
Earlier this week I wrote about how it’s time to breakup with the manosphere and create a womansphere: a space for equity, inclusivity, and growth—online and offline, where women can connect without fear. And I heard back from so many of you saying, “sign me up!”
👉 For today’s Thursday thread, here’s what I’d like to know:
What does your version of a womansphere look like? A book club or a running club? Or maybe you want to connect to women where you live who are passionate about empowerment or politics. Tell me about the community that would help you come alive in the comments!

Welcome to the Thursday Threads, a weekly chance for us to connect with one another in the comments. Join me and other readers as we navigate important discussions. And a note: a difference of opinion is always okay, being unkind to one another is not. Let’s keep these conversations respectful.

I WANT TO MAKE GOOD TROUBLE!! I want to disrupt their plans in small covert ways which are not traceable or too big and widespread to counter! I want to do so in the spirit of fun and glee instead of despair and hand-wringing and “being polite!” Screw that! We have the numbers to create a ton of good trouble, we just need creative minds to start organizing a mass effort!
I want to meet women who are feminists and read the news in my town. Not interested in people taking a permanent “break” from the news because they have so much privilege and self-absorption that they can afford to watch (or not) from the sidelines. In other words serious women with a social conscience and political backbone: we can be courageous together.
We must be courageous in these times of rising misogyny and racism. I have been on the receiving end of an upswing of microaggressions in social and academic settings and I have maybe two close friends who get it.
Had a dream last night on vacation that a group of men were throwing knives at me as I attempted to reason with them. Scary times for us all. . . We need a supportive group to get through the dark days ahead.
