I WANT TO MAKE GOOD TROUBLE!! I want to disrupt their plans in small covert ways which are not traceable or too big and widespread to counter! I want to do so in the spirit of fun and glee instead of despair and hand-wringing and βbeing polite!β Screw that! We have the numbers to create a ton of good trouble, we just need creative minds to start organizing a mass effort!
I want to meet women who are feminists and read the news in my town. Not interested in people taking a permanent βbreakβ from the news because they have so much privilege and self-absorption that they can afford to watch (or not) from the sidelines. In other words serious women with a social conscience and political backbone: we can be courageous together.
We must be courageous in these times of rising misogyny and racism. I have been on the receiving end of an upswing of microaggressions in social and academic settings and I have maybe two close friends who get it.
Had a dream last night on vacation that a group of men were throwing knives at me as I attempted to reason with them. Scary times for us all. . . We need a supportive group to get through the dark days ahead.
Along the lines of what Beth said, but bigger. I want to be part of the visionaries who will form a totally new government and Constitution for the US. We need something ready to go when our current system inevitably collapses.
A counter plan to Project 2025, led by women to crush the patriarchy and capitalism and build safer, healthier, more inclusive society for everyone.
I have ideas for how to organize this think tank, but lack the resources, funding and knowledge to execute it. We need people with policy, legislative expertise as well as people in the field who have created effective solutions for social crises that can be scaled and more.
Part of this is spacemaking. I want to create physical spaces where women can commune and communicate. I also want to break down walls of understanding, especially in the finance world, which I still see as overwhelmingly male. We have to learn, embrace, and use our financial power. Women make most of the purchasing designs at the consumer level in the U.S. and yet the financial advisory world is overwhelmingly male.
I hear you. I feel you. It's sickening. It's how Black women must feel about white women. So if we cannot count on men, how do we take it on and make change?
Iβve started a website for single women to help achieve their goals, such as traveling. Iβm a Gen Xer and Iβm wondering how to handle my retirement years as I get older, so I hope to create a community for single women to connect and solve problems. Follow me at @SoloListHQ on Instagram. ( Shannon, I can delete if this is considered advertising.)
Currently, it's mostly about uplifting the women in my life. I am part of a group of ten women (we all worked in the same school together at some point or another) - we call ourselves the Obstinate Women. We don't have any formal activism happening but we support the hell out of each other. And when an activism opportunity arises in our area, we generally band together to support the cause en masse as much/often as possible. And we remind each other that we don't owe men a damn thing, to hold our expectations high, and to "be a menace" to any toxic patriarchy we encounter. Including our own husbands and family. ;)
Wellness Circle, Yoga, Yoga Nidra. All womanspaces I participate in which support my inner life and health. As soon as I become more regulated, I will seek a place to send my energy to dismantle patriarchy.
so many good ideas here - I know that I need to be able to regularly connect with like-minded women - online and in person. My hubs is super supportive but an introvert so going with me to rallies or political meetings isn't his thing. Would love to find a few friends I can do that with.
I am part of a group that I cherish that focuses on electing women. I love being able to meet women just like us who are doing such important work. But, even more than that I ADORE the community that we have built. I consider these women sisters and don't know what I'd do without them.
Here's something that I would like - some sort of Discord or similar discussion channel for politics and current events that is limited to women and non-binary identifying folks. So much of the current discourse around politics is dominated by men, even on the left. I'd love a channel that focuses on how this moment in time impacts us specifically.
I'm also looking for a group that meets in person if anyone has suggestions (I'm in New York City).
One of my best friends is putting together a way for like minded small businesses, including lots of women owned businesses connect so that we can shop with our values in mind. It has been so inspiring seeing all her work coming together. This helps women support women. https://www.localliberal.com/
I'm a movement teacher and I love moving with women especially. Over the years, we've made deep connections that are now growing into the work of reducing the suffering and harm inevitably caused when rich white narcissistic men are in charge. But it all sickens me. Women have been doing the clean up work forever. When do we get full standing and autonomy? It doesn't seem like any time soon. What are y'all saying to the young women in your lives? I'm terrified for them in a country of fucking personhood.
I would love to start an online group. I just don't know where to start or how to start this. I do know people in my circle that would join to put our collective minds together. We are dedicated to doing something. We are enraged with what is happening now with this new administration and the unelected people that he has doing work they have no damn business doing.

I'm in! How do we do it?

All I know Ms. Shannon, is that the patriarchy is killing us. All Of Us.

Time for a Renaisssance!
Iβm in!!!
Awesome Kelly! Let's see if anyone else is interested and maybe we can get together and put ideas on paper.
A walking group that plans our next actions towards the demise of the coup dβpatriarchy on our strolls
love this idea.

Yes to this!!! The way women gain power in their world to make it our own is to beat them at their game, first and then we redesign it.
When Roe was overturned, I thought that men would be almost as outspoken as women were.
During the election we were told that abortion was a crucial issue for a majority of voters.
And yetβnow weβve got a government full of misogynist, anti-abortion, Christian nationalist white men.
I have come to the sickening conclusion that women Cannot. Rely. On. Men.
Knowing that, what do we do? Personally, Iβve decided to not expect anything from men. Ever. Is that a starting point?
Maybe.
