Wanted to give a perspective from someone who hasn’t divorced ❤️I’ve been married 20 years and we have five children. We had some major lulls over the years, but with therapy, communication, recovery… life stuff, you know…at this stage in our lives, we are goooood 🔥 Agree with the body acceptance stuff. Our sex life is better than ever. (We are 46 and 49)
I’m loving this topic and can relate 100%. Husband and I are both Gen X, we’ve been married almost 20 years, with two kiddos (teen and tween). After LOTS of therapy in the early years of our marriage, learning to truly communicate (especially about sex, desires, fantasies, etc), my hubby and I are truly having the best and most satisfying sex we’ve ever had. I’ve been on HRT for about two years, so that has definitely helped me (and in turn, him!). We regularly talk about the fact that sex now is way more fun than the early years.
I read the article, and it seemed that all of the people that were mentioned were divorced or not partnered. I’d be really curious to see responses from people who have been in relationships for many decades who have seen an evolution within that relationship as well.
Hello! Divorced. Living in my dad’s house. Ex and 3 kids here, too. When I find a willing online partner, always NOT near me, the ex gets all my horny attention. It’s not ideal obviously. I’m 51 and ex is 59. We’ve been together for 27 years. Divorced since 2009. Anyone have a private jet? 😭
Gen X “the unsupervised generation” and compared to my parents we are so uninhibited and liberated. And middle age is the best - in my case because hormones are more evenly distributed and I can’t get pregnant, and I’m way more accepting of myself. One thing Ive observed about Gen Z is that they seem to put more emphasis than my generation on having really beautiful friendships.

Lelo vibrator, game changer!
Googling…
I am a boomer and have not experienced anything like this and have no idea what my millennial kids think! What an awareness! 😂
I just read the NYT article and I never considered the effect of the smart phone on sex. Interesting. Food for thought
Do I have to have a Subscription to the New York Times to be able to read the article?
Not sure 🦢💗♾️
