I was diagnosed at 48. I knew I had adhd from when my children were diagnosed, but it was validating to get an official diagnosis.

Thank you for this informative post, Shannon. My 16-year-old daughter has ADHD. She was diagnosed five years ago because the school system didn't pursue this issue despite my strong advocacy. I finally had to have her tested outside in an independent testing facility. I'm doing my best to help her.

This is so interesting! I’m a xenial, (44) and the penny dropped when I realised not only was I adhd but also my son (13). We are waiting assessment. I wrestled with a formal diagnosis route, but if it means he will grow up understanding himself more, it will be worth it.

Can’t believe, a generation of women feeling like outsiders but walking together all this time.
