Joy Reid was 100% right. God bless Shannon Watts for leading the charge. You are a born leader and a brilliant woman. I'm incredibly sad today but I am so grateful to be connected to you. Thank you so much for leading us.

+1 to all of this. I heard Joy Reid say that and felt the same way: so grateful for your (Shannon’s) brilliance, your tireless efforts these 100+ days, and your natural ability to lead and galvanize people.

But one of the silver linings here is that you have reached so many of us, many for the first time (like me!), and planted a seed. We must, and will, all play a role in the resistance, and many of us (like me!) want to step it up even more now that we see that the responsibility must extend allllll the way down to the foundation of our society, with deep (grass)roots, to withstand the impact of what is coming next.

Thank you, Shannon.

You always seem to know exactly what we need to hear which is why you're such an excellent leader. Thank you for this, thank you for the encouragement, thank you for always leading us, and thank you for all you've done to move the needle whether it's moved a little bit, or a lot.

I was elected for my second term on our local school board last night- one of two women elected. It was a bright spot on an other wise dark evening and a way to feel like I can have make a difference and bring about local impact and change.

Thanks+ from Oregon. I needed to read this and I also took a walk in the sun - before understanding how many relationships were forged in 107 days. ♥️

Thank you Shannon for all you did to galvanize white women voters in this election, for working so hard. That Mary Oliver quote...ah, gets me every time. Thank you for all the suggestions for self care. I am passing them right along. And yes, we will pick ourselves up and keep fighting.

Thank you! Losing forward is the motto I will hold onto. It resonates with my personal life story too. Keeping love, joy and justice for all in mind.

Gathering my people, listening, talking, mourning. I was on every Wednesday call and I appreciate all the effort that went into them. I am glad to be moving forward with you.

Thank you for this. I resisted the urge to take to my bed with an old book that I knew ended well, partly because my eyes wouldn't focus very long. Instead, I listened to hours of MSNBC election analysis. And it was very fulfilling. The experts explained various factors of which I had been unaware, which helped. But mostly, I was encouraged by their analysis of what we needed to do to resist Trump's worst instincts. Within an hour of the loss being confirmed, they were strategizing—what wouldn't work and explaining what would. What we needed to do to keep doing. And then Kamala appeared and said the same thing. We lost an election, not the fight. We keep fighting, and we will win. Trump is not our country or our Constitution. He can't be everywhere, but we can.

Thank you Shannon. I feel better imagining us falling forward and making progress. Also are you faking it for us? It’s OK to fall apart for a little while, and not be our fearless leader. Enjoy that sunshine and music. You worked so hard, and I appreciate you.

That's what she's going to do... as she said she went back to the room, she's listening to music, she's walking, and this blog leads us forward. Thank you Shannon.
